Jean’s ‘velvet hammer’ ability arises from her belief that persuasion is not simply a sales tactic. She says, “Persuasion is fundamental and pivotal to success in all walks of life”. Getting things done through others means selling ideas to motivate others to action. Whether they are clients, employees, families, friends, or neighbors, we must first see the problem and opportunities through their eyes, shoes, hearts, and wallets. Then we can align our objectives with their agendas and begin to motivate them to action. Without this perspective, we are ‘spamming’ but with it, we are able to position what to say and how to say it to give them the 'ears to hear' and the 'eyes to see' how to achieve mutual goals."
